You shot a selfie, now shoot a "selfie" of someone else!
I'm not one for portrait photography to be honest; I've shot lots of images but very few portrait shots so I'm out of my comfort zone.
The weather was still grey and wet so outdoor shots weren't an option and I was hoping to get a picture of a good friend of mine, who I think has an interesting face; but he wasn't able to join me unfortunately.
The position of model therefore fell to my 3 year old son; Marco.
How was it shot?
I was still to sort out my Nikon D7100 so this image was captured with my backup Nikon D3200.
It's a simple handheld shot, Nikon 35mm auto focus.
Camera is set to f/1.8, ISO400 shutter at 1/400.
I always bring my photographs into [DXO OpticsPro](http://www.dxo.com/us/photography/photo-software/dxo-opticspro" target="_blank) if only to use the auto correction features for camera and lens combinations.
I exported the image and brought that into [Color Efex Pro 4](https://www.google.com/nikcollection/products/color-efex-pro/" target="_blank) and applied the "Pro Contrast" preset.
I then brought the image into [Adobe Photoshop CC (2015)](http://www.adobe.com/photoshop" target="_blank) and applied a little vignette to the image.
I would really have liked to have the time to setup a proper photo shoot in order to capture a really good portrait shot; and for the future challenges I will try and do so.
I am quite happy with the image of Marco; but I would have liked to have captured the colour of his eyes much more as they're lovely, big, blue eyes.
It was good to try a portrait image and I will try and tune my skills in this area a little more; it's very different to product images, automotive and landscapes.
